I have experience specific to veterans, women’s mental health, and providing LGBTQIA+ affirming care.

-Substance use disorders: alcohol, opioids, cocaine, methamphetamine, benzodiazepines, etc.

Medications

- Initiating prescriptions, ongoing management, discontinuation

Psychotherapy

- Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT): addresses relationship between thoughts, emotions, and actions. Can be helpful when treating depression, anxiety, psychosis, insomnia, chronic pain, and other disorders.

- Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT): skills to help regulate strong emotions and unhelpful behaviors. Can be helpful when treating borderline personality disorder, suicidal thoughts/behaviors, substance use disorders, and other disorder.

- Motivational interviewing (MI): collaborative approach to support a change in motivations, behaviors, and sense of empowerment. Can be helpful with a wide-range of health behavior changes, such as quitting smoking, diet changes, taking medications regularly, and increased physical activity.

- Motivational enhancement therapy (MET): similar to MI but with a focus on changing behaviors related to addiction and substance use.

- Mindfulness: exercises to increase present awareness and acceptance. Can be incorporated when managing difficult symptoms, such as increased anxiety.

- Supportive therapy: talk therapy to help you process and navigate current life challenges.
